Some milestones ...

Saturday 23 April 2016: A second concert for the Friends of Cherry Hinton St Andrew

It was great to be asked back to do a concert to support the fund raising activities of the Church where we have our regular meetings. Playing in this lovely Church, to a real (and friendly) audience, was an experience not to be missed - even though a blast of arctic temperatures made it a little chilly.

St Andrew Cherry Hinton

The programme was impressive; 26 of us played in 12 "acts": solos, duets, trios and quartets - and there was some great audience participation. And it was not just 'normal' guitars: we also had a mandola, a cello and a baritone guitar. Here is the programme:

Concert for Friends of Cherry Hinton St Andrew, Saturday 27 April 2013

Just over a year since the East Anglian Guitarists started playing guitar to each other in Cambridge, and we have already managed to stage a guitar concert!

It was all in aid of Friends of Cherry Hinton St Andrew Church, Cambridge, who provided the audience and offered us the opportunity to play. I cannot help feeling that they had more confidence in our ability than we did. They even provided the interval refreshments (sorry - that is the only pic I can lay my hands on):

Nine (?) acts: guitar duets, solos and voice / guitar, filling a programme of well over an hour and a half. Overall management, stage management, compering to introduce the music we played: all worked together like clockwork. A great evening!

Happy First Birthday!

Did we ever think we would get this far? To celebrate the First Birthday of EAG in January 2013, we had a Special Edition Edible "Sprice" Top guitar by our innovative resident patuthier. Have a look:
